our wedding day
Created by jean sully 7 years ago
The day was full of sunshine even though it was March. We went to Arundel of our honeymoon so we could visit the castle but it was closed for the season. We stayed in a posh hotel next to the castle; as we didn't have much money we thought that instead of spending 12/6d. on an evening meal we would look for a café in the town. The town shops were all closed and there were no eating places so we had to eat in the hotel. We didn't want anyone to know were newly weds but the next morning when we came down to breakfast there was lots of confetti under the table; it had been in the turn-0p of your trousers. After breakfast we crept out of the hotel as we didn't have any money for the tip only ten shillings (50p equivalent in today's money) and we needed this for the train fare home. Before going home we went for a walk in the beautiful castle park; it was so hot that we had to take our coats off. We were so happy and so much in love that nothing worried us.
